When choosing a raw food diet for your dogs or cats, you will be bombarded with terms like "raw and fresh," "human grade," "premium," "balanced" and "all natural." These words mean nothing. 1. DOGS & CATS NEED DIGESTIVE ENZYMES FROM PREY GUT CONTENTS.
Dogs and cats need digestive enzymes to extract the "nutrients" from the food they consume. You can read more here. Dog's dont chew, they tear, crunch and swallow so the gut is where all the digestion action happens. It's extremely important teh gut contains the correct digestive juices otherwise your dog is unable to fully extract all the nutrients. That's why we stock raw green tripe, it provides natural bactreria, pre-digested plant matter and is a must for gut and immune system health for dogs.

When it comes to "nutrients" the source of the produce is the main factor. Grass-fed, wild-caught, or free-ranged produce is a different product from factory-farmed produce which is nutritionally deficient.

For instance, a study conducted in Australia revealed that free-range chicken meat significantly higher levels of omega-3 (up to 50% higher) compared to intensive farmed chicken. (Source: Singh et al., 2019). Canned sardines contain 75% less vitamin B1, 51% less vitamin B2, 34% less vitamin B3, 50% less vitamin B6, and 38% less vitamin B12 compared to fresh sardines.
