Puppy raw food transition packs are how you move a young dog onto a real raw diet without upsetting their digestion in the process. Each pack here combines lean proteins, gut-friendly green tripe and balanced organ content, portioned in the right proportions for a growing puppy that's making the switch from kibble, wet food, or the breeder's starter feed. Whether you've just picked up a Labrador pup at eight weeks, you're starting a young Kelpie on the right foot, or moving a six-month-old French Bulldog off processed food, pick the transition pack that matches your puppy's weight and start the switch from there.
How to Transition a Puppy to Raw Food
Puppies move onto raw far more easily than adult dogs because their preferences aren't entrenched and their digestive system adapts quickly. A clean transition still helps, especially for stools and overall comfort during the change.
Days 1 to 3: introduce slowly
Start with 25% raw mixed into your puppy's current food at each meal. Keep mealtimes the same. Watch stool quality and energy. Most puppies dive straight in.
Days 4 to 7: increase the raw portion
Move to 50% raw, 50% old food. By the end of the week most puppies are ready for the next step. If stools are loose, hold here for a few more days before moving up.
Days 8 to 10: fully on raw
Move to 100% raw. Most puppies make this transition without drama. Stools usually become smaller, firmer and noticeably less smelly within a few days of going fully raw.
Serve at room temperature
Never feed straight from the fridge. Thaw in the fridge for 12 to 24 hours, then let it sit out for 15 minutes before serving. Puppies eat better at room temperature.
Watch the bone introduction
The transition packs include soft bone content. Hold off on harder recreational chews until adult teeth settle at around four to six months. Our puppy raw feeding guide and common raw feeding mistakes covers more on what to avoid in the early weeks.
Which Puppy Transition Pack Suits Your Puppy
There are four transition packs, each built around a slightly different profile. Pick by your puppy's size, sensitivity and what they've been eating before.
Puppy Transition Pack #01
The entry-level pack. Lean proteins paired with gut-friendly green tripe for a smooth raw start. Good first choice for most puppies coming off kibble, especially small to medium breeds.
Puppy Transition Pack #02
Balanced raw with novel proteins and digestive support. Useful for puppies that have shown sensitivities on common proteins like chicken or beef, or for owners wanting to expose their pup to broader protein variety early.
Puppy Transition Pack #03
Designed specifically to support healthy growth, joint strength and a smooth feeding transition. Suits medium and large breed puppies whose skeletal development needs careful calcium-phosphorus balance through the growth window.
Puppy Transition Pack #04
Built around muscle growth, joint health and steady transition. The biggest of the four, suited to larger active breeds and puppies past three months who are ready for more volume per meal.
What Comes After the Transition
Once your puppy is fully settled on raw, broaden the rotation. The full raw puppy food range includes single-protein primal mixes, soft raw meaty bones like chicken and duck necks, organs, and omega-rich fish, all of which build into a proper varied raw diet as your pup grows. Run your puppy's daily portion through our raw feeding calculator every two to three weeks since growth changes their daily needs quickly. New to raw entirely? Start with why raw works.
